Our 9th Annual Event Benefiting |
 |
| Since 1976, Habitat for
Humanity has worked in partnership with families to
build more than 350,000 homes around the world, providing
more than 1.75 million people in more than 3,000 communities
with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Habitat is the
11th largest home builder in the United States (according
to 2009 Builder Magazine) and is ranked the #1 homebuilder
in the world.

The Trinity chapter of Habitat for Humanity approves
homeowners based on their level of need, their ability
to repay the loan, and their willingness to partner
with Habitat.
- A Need for Shelter
- Income is too low to qualify for a traditional
mortgage.
- Problems with current housing situation (i.e.,
pay more than 30% of monthly income for housing
expenses, live in an overcrowded situation, live
in a home with structural, electrical, or plumbing
problems, etc.).
- An Ability To Pay For Shelter
- Resident of Tarrant, Johnson, Wise or Parker
County for at least 12 months AND in current residence
for at least 12 months.
- Employed in current vocation for at least 12
months. Income must be within 30% to 60% of median
income (example, $19,000 to $39,000 for a family
of four).
- A Willingness To Partner With Habitat
- Homeowners are required to invest 250 hours
of their own labor – “sweat equity”
– into building their own and other Habitat
houses.
