Sabre Holdings 8th Annual Event Benefiting

The Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation National Office was founded in 1970 by concerned parents of children with cancer. Today our membership of over 50,000 members of the national office and more than 100,000 members across the country, including Candlelighters affiliate groups, includes:

  • Parents of children who are being treated or have been treated for cancer
  • Children with cancer
  • Survivors of childhood cancer
  • Immediate or extended family members
  • Bereaved families
  • Health care professionals
  • Educators
  • Local Groups

Candlelighters is a network of support made up of parents of children with cancer, the professionals who treat these children, and volunteers. We strive to help ease the fears and frustrations of these children and their families who face a spectrum of challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis.

Claire Campanaro, director of the Sabre Holdings Cup Golf Tournament, presents a check for $51,906.19 to the Board of Candlelighters of Greater Fort Worth. With this donation the Board has been able to approve an increase in financial assistance* beginning Jan. 1, 2009 from $400 up to $500 per request, with an allowance in requests increasing from a one time only assistance up to two assistance requests (one per calendar year).
